Middle Ages Unit Plan Goals
By the end of this lesson students will be expected to achieve the following:
1. Accurately identify and describe prominent figures during the Middle Ages.
2. Describe the people, place, events, and religion prominent during the Middle Ages. Objectives
The student will be able to identify the geographical locations of significant events during the Middle Ages. (cognitive)
The student will be able to collaborate effectively with peers in determining the fall of Rome and the impact on European countries. (affective)
The student will be able to understand the Justinian time period and the influence of society. (cognitive)
The student will be able to identify Charlemagne and how he would change Europe. (cognitive)
The student will be able to relate emotionally to the people within specific levels of the feudal system. (affective)
The student will be able to utilize their artistic abilities in creating and understanding the life of a knight. (performance)
The student will compose in various forms of discourse Middle Ages artwork emphasizing the class system and the impact of the Catholic church. (performance)
The student will be able to interpret and digest the influence of the Magna Carta. (cognitive)
The student will be involved in class activities and individual assignments to better understand the impact of the Crusades. (performance)
The student will be able to participate in a classroom activity to understand the rise of towns and capitalism after the effects of the Crusades. (performance)
